Scheduled
Dear Partners,
We wanted to share an important update regarding a planned infrastructure upgrade to the Alpaca platform.
As part of our continued investment in platform reliability, we are proactively upgrading the underlying infrastructure that supports all Alpaca services. This decision is a proactive measure driven by an upcoming vendor change.
Maintenance Window
We will have an additional Saturday morning maintenance window, in addition to our standard monthly maintenance window, to minimize impact during low-traffic periods and with your operations top of mind:
When: Saturday, April 4, 2026
Time: 9 AM to 11 AM EST
Downtime: Up to 2 hours. Please note that maintenance windows are approximate. While we aim to complete work within the scheduled timeframe, maintenance may conclude earlier or occasionally extend if additional work is required to ensure system stability.
For the most up-to-date information on this maintenance event, please refer to our Status Page and subscribe for updates.
What To Expect
This maintenance will be performed as a rolling process. Services will not be taken offline simultaneously. That said, you may observe brief, intermittent disruptions during the maintenance window, including:
Transient API errors or elevated response times, typically resolving within seconds to a few minutes.
Short periods where individual services may be temporarily unreachable as nodes are cycled.
Our engineering team will be monitoring the entire process in real time to ensure rapid resolution of any issues.
Actions Required
Confirm that your integrations include retry logic and appropriate timeout handling for transient errors.
Where possible, defer high-volume or time-sensitive operations until after the maintenance window concludes.
In the event of intermittent errors during the upgrade, allow a brief period for services to stabilize before raising a support request.
Recommendation: Please ensure your internal teams avoid running tests in Sandbox during this maintenance window.
After the Maintenance
No action is required on your part following the maintenance. All API endpoints, credentials, and integration configurations will remain unchanged.
We are committed to continuous improvement, and this process change will help us deliver stability and enhancements with greater speed.
If you have any questions or require further clarification, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or our support team at brokersupport@alpaca.markets.
Best Regards,
Alpaca Team
